This short, fairly level, loop walk mid-way up kunanyi / Mount Wellington is ideal for families, although care should be taken on the short section of Pinnacle Road.

It is a great all year round walk, varying with the seasons. During the heat of summer the deep shade and mossy greens of the forest make a welcome retreat, whilst in winter you may be treated to a dusting of snow.

The Octopus Tree, with its tentacle-like roots gripping a huge sandstone boulder, makes an interesting side trip.
